# Install skills

> Install the Merge Gateway plugin for Claude Code and use its skills to integrate Gateway, scaffold an agent, or migrate from another SDK or gateway.

The Merge Gateway plugin gives Claude Code step-by-step skills for integrating Gateway, building an agent, and migrating an existing setup. Use them when you want Claude to make the code changes for you instead of following a guide by hand.

## Install

```bash
claude plugin marketplace add merge-api/merge-gateway-skills
claude plugin install merge-gateway
```

## Skills

Invoke a skill by name, or describe your current setup and Claude picks the matching one.

| Skill                               | What it does                                                                 |
| ----------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/merge-gateway:gateway-implement` | Detect your stack, install the Merge Gateway SDK, and verify the integration |
| `/merge-gateway:build-agent`        | Scaffold a tool-calling agent with an execution loop                         |
| `/merge-gateway:gateway-features` | Add tags, routing, and multi-model usage to an existing integration |
| `/merge-gateway:migrate-direct-sdk` | Move from the OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google SDKs to Gateway |
| `/merge-gateway:migrate-bedrock` | Replace boto3 Bedrock calls and map Bedrock model IDs |
| `/merge-gateway:migrate-azure` | Map Azure OpenAI deployment names to Gateway models |

To migrate from another gateway, describe your current setup to Claude Code. The plugin includes migration skills and selects one that fits your project.

The source for every skill is in the [merge-gateway-skills](https://github.com/merge-api/merge-gateway-skills) repository.
